LF Books India is dedicated to providing a strong, supportive platform for talented writers—both emerging and established—across a wide range of literary genres.

Poetry Policy

• We do not publish general poetry.
• We accept children’s rhymes.
• Exceptional curated poetry collections by unpublished or offbeat writers may be considered if they demonstrate high literary merit.

Why We Exist

Many gifted authors appear with brilliance but fade due to the lack of a supportive publishing ecosystem. We believe every creative writer deserves a platform to reach discerning readers.

Submission Guidelines

Book Proposal Submission

Subject Line: “Book Proposal – Fiction/Non-Fiction”

Proposal must include:

• Synopsis (detailed)
• Sample Chapters:
• Novels / Non-fiction: 2 chapters
• Short story collections: 4 stories
• Author Information: detailed bio, interests, previous works, recent photograph
• Estimated word count of the complete manuscript

Response Timeline:
LF Books will respond within 7–15 days.
If no response is received, consider the proposal not accepted.

Minimum Word Count

• Fiction: 30,000 words
• Non-Fiction: 35,000 words

Manuscript Submission (After Approval)

• Submission window: 11 months
• Formats: MS Word (Unicode) + PDF
• Languages accepted:
• Bengali (original/translated)
• English (original/translated)

Submission Format Rules

• Only digital submissions allowed
• No hard copies, scanned pages, or handwritten manuscripts
• Must be original, unpublished, and plagiarism-free
• Should not be inspired by movies or foreign works

For Translations

• Original author must have died at least 50 years earlier
• Original author’s name and title must be clearly mentioned

Review & Selection Process

• All manuscripts undergo a strict 5-member In-House Selection Process (ISP)
• Review timeframe: 9–10 months
• Writers are notified after the review period
• Non-fiction may be evaluated by subject experts

Important Notes

• No personal recommendations, lobbying, or direct calls accepted
• Editorial decision is final
• Selected manuscripts cannot be withdrawn

Compensation & Publishing Terms

• Honorarium for original, unpublished works selected for print & digital
• Royalty & Agreement: authors receive formal contract + complimentary copies
• Marketing & publishing costs fully covered by LF Books India
