The Author
Partha De was born in Kolkata. He completed his schooling at Purulia and Belur Ramakrishna Mission. He pursued his postgraduate studies at the University of Calcutta. From his college days, he had a passion for writing, but he began serious writing in 2007.
For many years, he has been contributing to major publications such as Rabibasariya Anandabazar Patrika, Anandamela, Desh, Unish Kuri, Kishore Bharati, Nandan, and Antarip, as well as various smaller magazines and little magazines. He is comfortable writing in multiple genres, including social, mystery-thriller, science fiction, and historical fiction. He writes for both adult and young readers.
He has published eight books, among which notable titles include Chander Upatyaka, Desh Hariye Jay, Aruparkothara, Feel-Good Gari, Manan Sheel, and Rudhira Dharay Rohosyo, among others.
Partha De is also an accomplished translator. He has officially translated several pan-Indian English bestsellers into Bengali, including Chetan Bhagat’s national bestseller The Girl in Room 105. In 2022, he was honored as the first recipient of the Anish Deb Memorial Award.
