ছোটদের জন্য লেখা মানেই তাদের জ্ঞান দেওয়া নয় কিংবা কৌতূহল নিবৃত্তি নয়। বরং তাদের সুকুমার বৃত্তি কীভাবে প্রভাবিত হতে পারে খুব সূক্ষ্মভাবে তার হদিশ দেওয়া। গল্প তখনই ছোটদের ভালো লাগবে যখন নিজেদের ভাবনার প্রেক্ষাপটে খুদে বা কিশোর পাঠক তার আনন্দ খুঁজে পাবে স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে। তাই শিশু মন কখনও ভাববে বাঘ আগে নাকি বিরিয়ানি আগে, বাঁদরের নাম বিপত্তারণ কীভাবে হল, কিংবা বদন চরিত্রের মতো বালকের পড়াশুনাতে বুদ্ধি না থাকলেও গাছকে যে গভীর মমতা দিয়ে ভালোবেসে গাছবাবু হওয়া সেটাই বা কীভাবে সম্ভব। আবার দেখা যাবে মাননীয় মন্ত্রীমশাই ঠিক করলেন তার প্রজাদের জন্য জঙ্গলে গিয়ে ভাষণ দিচ্ছেন প্রজাদের রক্ষা করার জন্য। এরকমই কয়েকটি গল্পের মধ্যে ছোটরা যদি কিছুটা আনন্দের খোরাক পেয়ে যায় ক্ষতি কী!

Writing for children doesn’t mean just giving them knowledge or answering their curiosity. Instead, it’s about subtly influencing their sense of wonder and creativity. A story will truly appeal to young readers when they can naturally find joy in it based on their own thoughts and imagination.
So, a child might wonder whether the tiger came first or the biryani, how a monkey got the name Bipattaran, or how a boy like Badan, who isn’t great at studying, could become “Tree Baba” by loving trees with all his heart. Or imagine a situation where a respected minister decides to go into the jungle to give a speech about protecting his people!
If children find joy in such stories, then what’s the harm?
