Subhomanas Ghosh was born on 17 October 1958 in Shalkia, Howrah, West Bengal. A retired professor and an accomplished author, he has made significant contributions to Bengali literature through his writings for both young readers and adults. His literary journey began during his student years, driven by a deep passion for storytelling and creative expression.

His first book, Golpo Olpo Swolpo, was published in 1988. He later established himself as a novelist with Bandhur Bari (2010), which earned him recognition as a distinguished writer. Over the years, his literary works have received several honours and awards. His contribution to Bengali short fiction was further recognised when one of his stories was included in Shatabarsha Galpo Sankalan 2022, a prestigious collection marking a century of Bengali storytelling.

With his distinctive narrative style and versatility, Subhomanas Ghosh continues to hold a special place in contemporary Bengali literature.
