LF Books India invites authors to submit their book proposals and manuscripts for the upcoming Kolkata Book Fair 2026. Submissions are welcome in Bengali or English from both new and established writers.

Submission Timeline

Book Proposal Deadline: March 31, 2025

Manuscript Submission Deadline (Final): July 31, 2025

Final Selection Notification: September 30, 2025

Submission Guidelines

1. Originality:

Submissions must be original and unpublished.

Previously published works are acceptable only if published in print magazines.

No adaptations, reworks of popular movies, or translations of foreign stories are permitted.

2. Proposal Requirements:

Submit a book proposal first, including the theme and a summary of the book.

Proposals must be sent via email in Word format (Unicode for Bengali).

Include a PDF version along with the Word file.

Handwritten, scanned, or photographed manuscripts will not be accepted.

3. Response to Proposals:

If you do not receive a response within 7 days, consider the proposal rejected.

Only selected proposals will proceed to the manuscript submission stage.

4. Manuscript Submission (for Selected Proposals):

Full manuscripts must be submitted by July 31, 2025.

Submit both Word (Unicode for Bengali) and PDF versions.

Word Count Guidelines

Fiction: Minimum 27,000 words

Non-Fiction: Minimum 35,000 words

No upper word limit.

For Translations:

The original author must have passed away before 1975.

The original author’s name and the title of the original work must be mentioned.

Selection Process and Terms

No phone requests, personal recommendations, lobbying, or financial offers will influence selection.

Only the quality of writing will determine selection, as decided by our Editorial Board (ISP).

Both new and experienced writers are welcome; no preference will be given based on previous publications.

Finalized books will receive a formal contract, including royalty terms and complimentary copies.

Self-financed or vanity publications will not be considered.
