লেখকের নিজস্ব উচ্চাকাঙ্ক্ষা থেকেই রুবাইদা ও রীপ জুটির সৃষ্টি। রুবাইদা তেইশ বছরের তরুণ, সে ইনভেস্টিগেটিভ জার্নালিস্ট হতে চায়। তার সঙ্গী রীপ বছর উনিশের কলেজ ছাত্র। তাদের তদন্তমূলক অভিযানগুলো নিয়েই দুটি কাহিনি- ‘গ্রহরাজপুরের গোলযোগ’ ও ‘রিল রহস্য’। আপাতদৃষ্টিতে প্রাইভেট ইনভেস্টিগেটর ও ইনভেস্টিগেটিভ জার্নালিস্ট এর মধ্যে হয়তো খুব পার্থক্য পাওয়া যাবে না, তবু সূক্ষ্ম একটা পার্থক্য বোধহয় রয়েছে। কিন্তু ইনভেস্টিগেটিভ জার্নালিস্টের লেগ ওয়ার্ক কিঞ্চিৎ বেশি। বিজ্ঞানের যুগে ভ্যাম্পায়ারের আগমন ও তার রহস্যভেদ কিংবা নাটকীয়ভাবে সিনেমার রিল চুরির রহস্যভেদ এই দুইয়ের মিশলে গড়ে উঠেছে রহস্যের মোড়া এই গ্রন্থটি। যেহেতু কিশোরপাঠ্য উপন্যাস তাই হার্ডকোর জার্নালিজমের খুঁটিনাটির গভীরে না গিয়ে, বরং কিশোর পাঠকদের আগ্রহ উত্তেজনার কথা মাথায় রেখে লেখক রহস্যোদ্ধারের দিকেই বেশি মনোযোগ দিয়েছেন।

The creation of the duo Rubai Da and Rip stems from the author’s own ambitions. Rubai Da is a twenty-three-year-old young man who aspires to be an investigative journalist. His companion, Rip, is a nineteen-year-old college student. Their investigative adventures are the focus of two stories—The Chaos of Graharajpur and The Reel Mystery.
At first glance, there may not seem to be much difference between a private investigator and an investigative journalist, yet there is a subtle distinction. However, an investigative journalist’s legwork is slightly more extensive. The blend of uncovering the mystery of a vampire’s arrival in the age of science and solving the dramatic case of a stolen film reel shapes this mystery-laden book.
Since it is a novel aimed at young readers, the author has chosen not to delve too deeply into the intricacies of hardcore journalism. Instead, he has focused more on mystery-solving, keeping in mind the excitement and engagement of young readers.
